We are thrilled to have completed a gorgeous installation of a substantial detached residence in Lambourne End, Essex. The property, distinguished by its five prominent gables—two large ones at each end and three smaller ones in between—underwent a significant transformation with Alitherm 400 windows, Alitherm 400 French Doors and Ezifold bifolding doors.
The challenges of a large home improvement project
Our customer was eager to enhance their home with modern windows and doors, but one of their essential requirements was preserving its architectural integrity. However, they harboured several concerns common among homeowners undertaking such a significant project and installing a large number of windows and doors.
- Quality and Aesthetics: Would the new windows and doors complement the distinctive gable architecture of their home?
- Security: Could they be assured of enhanced security features to protect their family?
- Installation Process: Would the installation be smooth, and would the installers respect their home?
- Disruption: How long would the installation take, and would it interfere with their daily lives?
- Aftercare: What support would be available if issues arose post-installation?
Meeting customer requirements with contemporary aluminium windows and doors.
Chigwell Window Centre recognised these concerns and took a proactive approach to alleviate them.
Personalised Consultation
The process began with a detailed consultation. After visiting our Loughton showroom, our customers conducted a site visit and survey to assess the property and discuss their vision. Understanding their desire to enhance natural light and maintain the architectural features, we recommended the Alitherm 400 windows and Ezifold bifold doors.
Customised Design Solutions
Aesthetic Harmony: We assured our customer that the new installation would seamlessly integrate with the gable designs, brickwork colour, roof tiles and the prominent grey patio area outside. The feature gable and casement windows were tailored to match the property’s character.
Colour Matching: The RAL 7032 matt grey finish was chosen to provide a contemporary yet timeless look that harmonises with the existing façade.
Enhanced Security Features
- Advanced Locking Systems: All doors and windows were equipped with multipoint locking mechanisms and security cylinders.
- Quality Hardware: Contrasting satin stainless steel handles and colour-matched hinges not only added to the aesthetic appeal but also ensured robust security.
Transparent Installation Process
- Pre-Installation Briefing: The Smiths were provided with a detailed plan outlining the installation schedule and what to expect each day.
- Professional Installers: Our team assured them that all installers were trained to be respectful, tidy, and efficient.
Minimising Disruption
- Efficient Workflow: The installation was planned to cause minimal disruption, with old fittings removed promptly and new ones installed swiftly.

- Smaller Gables: Two sets of side-hung casement windows alongside two longer windows with opening vents above fixed-glazed panels.
Ground Floor Transformation:
