Chigwell Window Centre PLC has helped secure the future of Havering’s much-loved St George’s Day Parade after stepping in to cover a £9,000 funding shortfall that had put this year’s event at risk.
When organisers revealed the annual celebration could be cancelled due to a lack of funding, Dean from Chigwell Window Centre pledged the full amount needed to ensure the parade could still take place.
The St George’s Day Parade has become an important tradition in the Havering community, bringing together local schools, families and residents to celebrate English heritage and community spirit each year.
Dean said supporting the event was an easy decision for the local business.
“We were really disappointed to hear the parade might not go ahead this year. Events like this are incredibly important for the local community, especially for children and families who look forward to it every year. As a local business, we believe strongly in giving something back and supporting events that bring people together.”
The support from Chigwell Window Centre has been welcomed by local residents and organisers, who say the parade plays a key role in celebrating local traditions while bringing the community together.
With the funding now secured, this year’s Havering St George’s Day celebrations will go ahead as planned, allowing families across the borough to once again enjoy one of the area’s most valued community events.
Chigwell Window Centre, which has a showroom in Romford, has long supported community initiatives and local events across Havering and the surrounding areas.
